Barrack Hussein Obama has been though alot in his life, the death of is mother abd the rasisim he had to deal with growing up yet, he still made it to becoming the first african american democratic presidential canidadte. Obama was raised by his mother and grandparents leaving his father out of the picture. Due to the fact that Obama was raised by his mother he might tend to be more caring towards the working single parent. Around the age of ten Obama had been known as Barry. By the 5th grade Obama was enrolled in Punahou Academy, and he graduated one of the three african american students at his school.

Obama grew up as a regular teenager. He even admits to using alcohol, and drugs during his youthful years. After high school Obama went on to a college for two years and than transferred to Columbia University. He graduated from there in 1983, just one year after his father dying in a car accident. Obama graduated with a degree in political science. And that very degree helped bring him to where he is now.

Joesph Robinette Biden, Jr. was born on November 1942 in Pennsylvania. Joe Biden as a child had a studdering problem. So he is probably very caring toward the children of america who have issues and problems as a kid. Biden attended Archmere Acadmay, which is a Catholic school. And Biden later on recieved a bachelors degree from the University of Delaware, than a short 3 years later he gained a law degree from Syracuse University.
In 1972 Biden was eleced to the U.S. Senate and at that time he was just 29, which met he had become the 5th youngest senator in history. Later on his wife and daughter died in a car accident while Christmas shoping, and his two sons although were serverly hurt, survived. So even though Biden wasleft pained at the memory he has still made it to where he is now.

John McCain is of the age 72, born August 29th, 1936, so he clearly has more experience than Obama with politics. As a kid John Sidney McCain spent his childhood in between navel bases. McCain attended Episcopal High School which is a private boarding school. McCain started out following in his father's footsteps. Always ready and perpared for combat. At one point McCain spent about six years in various prison camps. Where he was beaten and caused physical harm.

McCain easily won a seat in office. Mainly because of his well known war records. After the retirement of Barry Goldwater, McCain won election to th U.S. Senate. Where he soon earned his reputation as a conservative politician. Later on came the republican presidential nomination. Which McCain fought hard to win, but unfourtunately came up short.

Sarah Louise Heath Palin was born in the year 1964. Although Palin was born in Idaho she moved to Alaska at the small age of 3 months. Her parents worked at a school in the small town which Palin grew up. Palin at first became known for her intensity on the basket ball court where she gained the nick name "Sarah Barracuda".Some years later Sarah earned her bachelors degree in journalism in the year 1987 from the Unversity of Idaho.

Palin later on in life entered politics around the year 1992 and she was later on elected mayor. As mayor, Palin cut her taxes and reducted spending, she also made the city sales taz higher by half a percert. Therefor putting more money into public safety. Sarah Palin as Vice President was clearly a wise choice for McCain.

First off, I had no clue Joe Biden's middle name was Robinette. It sounds like Robin, but in girl's form. I also did not know he had a studder...er...ering problem as a child. That was kind of mean, sorry.

I didn't know Sarah Palin played basketball as a child, either.

Obama's Mission Statement

Once I take on my term in January, I promise that this country will rise above all. I will make sure change occurs, I will give the U.S.A. my complete all and nothing less!

Biden's Mission Statement

I promise as your vice president that I will stand beside Obama, and stay true to America!

McCain's Mission Statement

If I were to become the president, for the most part things would differ, but not completly.

Palin's Mission Statement

If I were your vice president, I would make my opinions heard, and when the country needed it I would step in.

Political Issues

John McCain

1. McCain is in opposition to abortion apart from rape and incest.
2. McCain believes we should have enhanced funding educational programs and schools.
3. Approves of the death penalty in federal occurrences.
4. He will continue to preserve the environment, including national parks and exposed areas.
5. In the healthcare situation, McCain did not want tax on premiums paid by families and individuals, for medical expenses such as the cost of medication, and insurance claims.
6. McCain's immigration idea is to finish protecting our borders in a well-organized method.
7. McCain is powerfully supportive of the war in Iraq and against removing the American troops from Iraq.
8. McCain has an idea that will create millions of jobs for Americans. With his vision he intends to ensure America’s energy protection, place the government’s budget back in order, and bring relief to our country.
9. McCain believes that Americans shouldn’t live in poverty, and he strongly supports the Regan Tax plan.
10. McCain believes we need to fund stem cell research, even though he is strongly pro-life.

Barack Obama
1. On the issue of: partial birth abortion, Obama strongly believes that the state should properly restrict late-term abortions. “We should have a provision to protect the health of the mother, and many of the bills that came before me didn't have that”, quoted from Obama.
2. Obama wants to reform No Child Left Behind, invest in early on childhood education, and generate a plan to make college affordable to all Americans.br>3. Obama is pro-death penalty
4. Obama worked to guarantee our nation's environmental laws and policies. He will carry on pushing for sound environmental policies with his colleagues in the 110th Congress.
5. Obama wants the U.S.A. to have a Universal Healthcare policy.
6. Obama wants to secure our borders, but at the same time enlarge the number of legal immigrants to keep immigrant families joined.
7. Obama is against war, but at the same time believes in bringing the troops back in a timely matter.
8. Obama a will eliminate all capital gains taxes on startup and small businesses to support innovation and job creation. Also, Obama promises he will create a “Make Work Pay” , which is a tax credit of up to $500 to $1000 a person.
9. Obama is currently planning to invest $1 billion towards helping the lower class citizens remove themselves out of poverty.
10. Obama is in favor of stem cell research.

The two presidential candidates clearly both have some fantastic ideas and intentions for America. Although I feel as though Obama's intentions are better and wiser. I understand McCain has more experience, but he isn't as young as Obama and that age differnce might prevent McCain from improving our country. Yes both of their beliefs are interesting but not perfect.

THE ENVIRONMENT

The Environment

It is obvious that the world we live is suffering from environmental issues that have been occurring. Especially now that the rate of global warming has increased, for an instance it has been shown that over the passed decades the average temperatures have climbed 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit. In places around the world like Alaska, western Canada, and eastern Russia the average temperatures have raised twice as mush as the global average. Although the place that has been affected the most would have to be the Arctic. Evidence has shown that ice in the Arctic is rapidly melting and or disappearing. There is proof, now shown which states that by 2040, 0r even earlier the Arctic will have its first ice free summer. Now just think about the polar bears, the penguins and other indigenous animals, they are already in distress due to the sea-ice loss. In 1910, Montana’s Glacier National park had 150 glaciers, currently it only has 27. So that’s 123 glaciers that have melted over the course of 98 years, which in all neutrality is just a short amount of time.

Environmental Challenges
I. loss of biodiversity and long-term damage to ecosystems
II. pollution of the atmosphere and the consequences of climate change
III. damage to aquatic ecosystems
IV. land degradation
V. the impacts of chemicals use and disposal
VI. waste production
VII. depletion of non-renewable resources

NUCLEAR WEAPONS

Nuclear Weapon
I. A nuclear weapon is an explosive tool that obtains its devastating intensity from nuclear reactions, either fission or a mixture of fission and fusion. Both reactions discharge extensive quantities of energy from reasonably small sum totals of matter; a contemporary thermonuclear weapon weighing little more than a thousand kilograms can create an explosion analogous to the detonation of more than a billion kilograms of conventional high explosives. Even small nuclear devices with yields corresponding to only a few thousand tons of TNT can destroy a city. Even small nuclear devices with yields corresponding to only a few thousand tons of TNT can destroy a city. Nuclear weapons are called weapons of mass destruction. I bring up nuclear weapons because you may not see it, but nuclear weapons are critical to our lifes. If this world were to have a world war three it would basically destroyed our world as we know it. Many people would die, and not just soldiers and troops, but our friends and families would die, to the nuclear bombs and explosions.

OFFSHORE DRILLING

Offshore drilling normally refers to taking resources which lie underwater near the shoreline. Currently John McCAin is calling an end to the band on offshore drilling. If this happens sure we'll have more oils, and etc, but think about the people who fish offshore. What happens to them? So I personally feel this shouldnt happen.

Solutions

After researching these issues, I thought about what we could do for the environment. The solution sounds simple but isn't. My solution is no futher littering, but that would take people worldwide caring. Which honestly alot of people don't care.

This world would be better off if everyone got along and there weren't weapons. But the world isn't like that and will never be. Nuclear weapons always kill, no matter what. So what do you do about it? The answer is America does nothing, because there isn't anything we can do.

Truthfully offshore drilling would help improve things. Yet at the same time it could destroy us. I am not trying to sound dramatic, but it could. Think about the polution that could happen. Ane now with america so polluted anyway I dont think its a proper solution.

My Opinion

So in this presential election we have candidates talking of change so often. For an instance McCain already wants to change the ban on offshore drilling. So are these changes good, bad, or what? I really think its a mixture of good and bad. Some changes will be wonderful for our economy, but some aren't so good. So I really don't know, but what I do know is we need a president who will make the appropiate and correct changes for our country.

Technology plans

Obama plans on protecting the openness of the internet; he supports the principle of network neutrality to preserve the benefits of open competition on the internet. Also Obama intends on ensuring America’s goods and services.

John McCain intends on using technology to benefit all Americans. He plans to use technology to provide incentives for research in America, and to protect American intellectual property. Also John McCain would develop a skilled workforce and ensure fully connected citizenry

n.p., n.d.,

The fact that Obama is continuously pronouncing what he would have altered if he could go back, is preventing the public from thinking he will change anything. This political cartoon states “And when I am president I will not invade Iraq in 2003, Barack to the future. Consequently in the public’s eyes Obama can’t change the future because he’s only thinking about what he would have changed if he could go back in time, hence fore meaning Barack to the future. Also it is obvious in this political cartoon that by Obama referring to the past so often it is not helping him win this election. So evidently for Obama to win this election he needs to find a way for the public to know he focused on the future, not the past like the public is currently assuming. Finally I’d like to say that this political cartoon does not support Obama in a positive way; however that is his fault for always constantly including the bits and pieces he’d change if he could go back to the past.

n.p., n.d.

This political cartoon is referring to Obama’s statement to putting lipstick on a pig, you could put lipstick on the pig, but it is still a pig. I believe this was referring to Palin. In this campaign it is still the same as always. So things haven’t changed in all this time, and that is what McCain is trying to change. When really nothing has changed so he is using smear tactics to cover that up.

n.p., n.d.

This political cartoon is pronouncing the opinion of many that the young voters are only voting for Obama because he promises change, and because Obama is young himself. Clearly as you can see in this political cartoon the girl in it knows nothing of what Obama is really planning, all she knows is he is wants to change Washington, and that he wants everyone to get along. By examining this cartoon you can tell perfectly how the elderly think of the young, which is in a very incorrect matter in my opinion. Now the way I see it this cartoon is making a mockery of Obama and the youthful. Reason being, not all of the youthful are going to vote Obama because he is young, and promises change, they will vote for him because of the facts they have gathered of him, and how he plans to run America if he were to become president. In this cartoon the manner in which the older portion of the public receives the young is wrong and incorrect for some of the youth.

n.p., n.d.

This political cartoon is clearly making fun of McCain’s choice of Palin as vice president. The reason I say that is because although Palin may persuade many women’s votes, she lacks experience. Which is quite ironic, considering McCain constantly talks of his experience. Also this political cartoon makes fun of Palin, by using her runner ship of Miss Alaska against her. Causing her to look less experience and create questions and concerns of her priorities in voter’s minds. After seeing this political cartoon I have come to the conclusion that, although in McCain’s eyes Palin was a good decision, but in the public’s eyes she lacks the experience needed to be a successful vice president.

n.p., n.d.

The political cartoon shown is evidently comparing John McCain to the Joker in the “Dark Knight”. In the “Dark Knight” the Joker did not care who died, so this political cartoon is creating the idea that John McCain doesn’t care about the economy. This political cartoon is generating that idea by using the Joker’s “why so serious” quote. Also as you concentrate on the meaning of this political cartoon, you’ll notice it’s saying John McCain takes being president as a joke. So clearly this cartoon does not support McCain in a positive way, because of the negativity shown.

n.p., n.d.

This political cartoon clearly shows the proof of McCain and Palin’s smear tactics to win the election. You’ll notice that not only in this cartoon, but also in the news McCain and Palin often use negativity towards Obama in attempt to win the election. This political cartoon takes you back to 9/11 when people where jumping from the top of buildings to escape the fires. Although they are no fires in this cartoon, it is still saying that Obama deals with the terrorists which killed many on 9/11. In addition to McCain and Palin’s negativity the political cartoon also shows that while McCain and Palin could be focusing on the real issues they aren’t. This political cartoon just shows the public that instead of trying to win this election in a fair and appropriate way, they are just using smear tactics and lies to win.
